My research examines the political consequences of global environmental change in the context of climate change. I study inequalities and conflicts shaped by environmental change, the empirical effects of climate disasters and resource extraction on political unrest, the effectiveness of development aid in crisis management, and the ethnic dimensions of inequality in developing countries.
